To ensure every voter can reach the polls without worrying about transportation costs or drop-off convenience, L.A. Metro will offer free rides on all buses and trains for the general election.

Free bus, train, and bike rides across L.A.

According to NBC, fares will be waived across all Metro buses and trains from 4 a.m. on Election Day until 3 a.m. the following morning. The effort aims to remove financial barriers for residents heading to polling places.

The free transit policy also extends to micro-mobility and on-demand services:

  • Metro Bike Share: Riders get free 30-minute trips by selecting “1-Ride” at any kiosk or in the app and entering promo code 110326. Electric bike fees are waived, with additional time costing $1.75 per half-hour.
  • Metro Micro: The agency’s on-demand rideshare service will automatically be free across all eight operating zones, with no code required. Bookings can be made online, in the app, or by calling 323-GO-METRO.
