The 2025 USA Cycling Cyclocross National Championships p/b The Meteor kicked off on Wednesday morning at Centennial Park in Fayetteville, Ark. A technical course, high winds, and dry conditions made for fast and challenging racing on day one.
Twenty-nine riders toed the line to battle for the Stars and Stripes jersey. From the start, the racing was fast and furious. By the end of lap one, the field splintered, and a lead group of five was established. Christopher Peck (Los Gatos, Calif.; LGBRC p/b Ben Dodge Realtor) and David Hildebrand (Ellington, Conn.; Competitive Edge Racing) pushed the pace to gain a small advantage over the hard-chasing group. Peck and Hildebrand continued to gain time, sticking close together until the last lap, where Peck was able to create a 13-second gap and claim the national title. Hildebrand rode in for silver, with Matt Davies (Boulder, Colo.; Donovan Racing) close behind, earning bronze.
