ABOUT TOM
Thomas F. Forsyth is a lifelong cyclist and resident of California who has practiced law for 34 years, most of those as a bike accident attorney.
Tom has been riding since childhood and enjoys both road cycling and mountain biking. He’s completed several century rides (100-mile routes), including the Cool Breeze, which connects Ventura to Santa Barbara, and Cruisin’ the Conejo, a scenic route that winds between Thousand Oaks and Malibu. He also once spent an entire week on an 800-mile group ride with Cycle America, linking several iconic sites—including Yellowstone and the Tetons—in the Mountain West. No matter where his bikes take him, the result is the same: a sense of freedom and gratitude for being able to spend time outdoors, getting exercise while sharing time with friends and family, or experiencing a more meditative state while alone.
In addition, Tom is a guitarist, competitive tennis player, and father to two athletic boys. When not in his office or on a bicycle, Tom can be found attending a Little League game or outside teaching his sons proper form for a good swing.
Tom is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara and received his law degree from Whittier College, School of Law, where he served on the Law Review as Notes and Comments Editor. He is admitted to the practice in the State of California and the United States District Court for the Central District of California. He is also a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and serves as a referral attorney for torts (civil actions).
ADVOCACY
Tom has always enjoyed helping others—it’s why he became a lawyer. Almost a decade into his career, he saw an opportunity to give back to the cycling community by focusing his personal injury practice on bike law.
In addition, Tom takes great pride in his work as a cycling advocate, promoting increased adoption of and support for cycling infrastructure, improved access and safety measures for cyclists, public and political support for bicycling, and the health, transportation, and environmental benefits of cycling for individuals and communities.
He is an active participant in the local cycling community, supporting multiple organizations working to create safer streets across California, including those listed below.
