• Wrongful Death of Cyclist: Cyclist was struck by a passing truck that did not abide by California’s 3 feet foot law.  Unfortunately, the cyclist subsequently died from his injuries.  The family was awarded $700,000.00.

 

• Left hand turn case.  Cyclist suffered several fractures.  Insurance company settled for $100,000.

 

• Cyclist injured as a result of a pothole.  Public entity settled for $100,000.

 

• Unleashed dog chased and injured cyclist.  Insurance company settled for $176,000.

 

• Driver made a right hand turn directly into the path of our client.  Drivers insurance company offered limits of $15,000.  Additional $60,000 recovered through cyclists UM policy.  Total recovery $75,000.

 

• Classic left turn case.  Motorist turned left directly in the path of cyclist.  Cyclist fractured pelvis, suffered multiple contusions and abrasions.  Insurance company settled for $400,000.00

 

• An avid cyclist was on her daily walk.  She was struck by a vehicle as she was using the crosswalk.  Insurance company settled for $298,000.00.

 

• Cyclist injured when struck from behind by inattentive driver.  Insurance company settled for policy limits of $25,000.00.

 

• Cyclist injured by vehicle passing too closely.  Insurance company settled for $16,500.00

 

• Cyclist vs. cyclist collision on bike trail.  We recovered through the other cyclists home owners insurance and collected the policy limits of $100,000.00.

 

• Driver ran stop sign and collided with cyclist in intersection.  Insurance company settled for $42,500.00.

 

• Cyclist injured by vehicle running a stop sign.  Insurance company settled for $90,000.00.

 

• Cyclist was hit from behind by inattentive driver.  Insurance company settled for $45,000.00.

• Cyclist was hit by driver making a left hand turn into a driveway.  Insurance company paid out the limits of $15,000.  We also collected an additional $35,000 from the clients underinsured motorist coverage.  Total settlement $50,000.00.

 

• Cyclist was riding on the sidewalk and hit by a vehicle leaving a parking lot.  Insurance company settled for $27,000.00.

 

• Cyclist was injured when driver did not keep a proper lookout.  Insurance company settled for $50,000.00.

• Client was riding on Ventura Blvd in the San Fernando Valley.  A valet attendant parked a car and opened the drivers side door without looking.  The client was “doored” and received a settlement of $110,000.00.


• Cyclist injured when driver cut in front of client. Client swerved to avoid impact and hit the pavement. Client tried to handle the case himself and was offered $700.00 to settle the case. After he retained our office, the case settled for policy limits of $15,000.00.


• Cyclist injured when vehicle attempted a left turn in front of him and client could not stop in time. Client had significant “soft tissue” injuries. Case settled for $30,000.00.


• Cyclist injured when driver opened her car door in front of cyclist. Case settled for policy limits of $50,000.00.


• Cyclist injured when struck him from behind as he attempted to change lanes. Insurance company argued there insured was not responsible and that the cyclists should have been more careful before attempting to switch lanes. Case settled for $60,000.00.


• Cyclist injured when driver opened car door in front of cyclist. Case settled for policy limits of $50,000.00.


• Cyclist injured when bike pedal failed due to manufacturing defect. Case settled for $60,000.00.


• Cyclist injured when driver turned left in front of him. Claims adjuster argued it was almost dark and cyclist did not have adequate lighting on bike. Case settled for $60,000.00.

• Cyclist fractured his hip when a vehicle attempted a u-turn in front of him. The Police Report placed the cyclists as being the primary factor for his own injuries and did not fault the driver of the vehicle. Case settled for insurance policy limits of $100,000.00.


• Cyclist injured when he was hit while attempting to cross street. Police Report said cyclist was at fault for accident. Case settled for $45,000.00.


• Cyclist injured when motorist made unsafe left hand turn in front of her. Police Report blamed the cyclist. The insurance company denied liability and the cyclist’s first attorney dropped the case. After our office was retained, the case settled for insurance policy limits of $15,000.00.


• Cyclist was hit while riding on the sidewalk. Police Report blamed the cyclist for riding on the sidewalk. After our office concluded it’s investigation, it was discovered the cyclist was allowed to be on the sidewalk in the particular location. Case settled for insurance policy limits of $15,000.00


• Cyclist injured when motorist made an unsafe left hand turn in front of him. Cyclist attempted to negotiate himself with the insurance carrier. He was offered $5,000.00 to settle the case. The insurance company refused to increase their offer. After retaining our office, the case settled for $40,000.00.
